Starkly repetitive and energetic, NUTCRUSHER by Sung-Im Her looks at sexual objectification and power.
The work questions how we relate to our bodies, how they are presented and re-presented, and how cultural contexts affect this. In NUTCRUSHER, Sung-Im Her explores the intersection of her identities as a woman, performer, Asian, and migrant, particularly in relation to the recent #metoo and #timesup movements. Through persistent techno and repetitive gestures, she and her female dancers move towards a genderless universe.
“Irrepressible explosiveness and robust energy NUTCRUSHER once again establishes Her as an artist in possession of immense physical and mental vitality.” Ji Won Jang.
This performance contains nudity, strobe lighting, and loud music.
This event is priced as “Pay What You Can” with a guided suggestion of £8.
