Hannah Buckley is a dancer and choreographer based in Leeds, UK. Her practice as an artist is rooted in processes that ask questions about dance, about embodiment, about health and wellbeing, and about how artists work, collaborate and co-create with other people, participants and communities.

Generally, she works on multiple projects that are distinct yet somehow interconnected. She is interested in the tension and skill of crafting art works whilst simultaneously letting things emerge. Her work is underpinned by a commitment to testing and experimenting, and to developing new ways of working and new ways of being a dance artist embedded in family, social, community and professional life.

Hannah has worked nationally and internationally as part of festivals such as Manchester International Festival, the Venice Biennale, Transform Festival, Gender Bender Festival, Leeds International Festival and Theatreformen Festival. Hannah’s work has been supported by organisations such as Arts Council England, Yorkshire Dance, Dance4, The Place, Manchester Art Gallery and Proforma.

Hannah has been a part time lecturer at Leeds Beckett University 2015. She is currently in training as a ‘Somatic Movement Educator & Therapist’, studying on the Institute for Integrative Bodywork & Movement Therapy diploma course.
